    Strategic objectives

    • To advocate and lobby for effective policy, legal and institutional framework for forestry resources and management in Uganda. This objective seeks to promote good governance in forestry sector through supportive policy formulation and implementation, transparency and accountability of duty bearers.
    • To generate and disseminate knowledge and information about sustainable forestry resources management practices and needs. This objective seeks to respond to knowledge gaps by providing information through a variety of ways to facilitate forestry resources development and
    • Management. The objective also acknowledges the need to keep abreast with trends and innovative forest management approaches.
    • To strengthen capacity of network members and other stakeholders in forestry resources management. This objective seeks to mobilize UFWG members and provide them with skills and other capacities to implement their forestry programmes. The objective also targeted selected stakeholders with relevant mandates and programmes that contribute towards UFWG goal and mission.
    • To demonstrate good forestry resources management practices. This objective seeks to demonstrate “practical” ways of managing forestry resources in sustainable way.
    • To build a credible UFWG network. This objective seeks to strength UFWG network and enhances its performance and quality of services hence, its credibility.
